This recipe produces six dozen cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 3/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats, uncooked
- 1 cup raisins
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden spoon
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Baking sheets
- Cooling racks
- Spatula
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
- Mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix together until blended.
- Drop teaspoon-sized portions two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. If you want larger cookies, you can use a tablespoon, which will make 24 larger oatmeal cookies.
- Bake about 10 minutes or until the edges are brown.
Oatmeal Cookie Variations
- Substitute a half cup dried cranberries and a half cup chopped walnuts for the raisins.
- Add a half cup chocolate chips and half cup chopped coconut for the ultimate oatmeal cookie.
- Omit the raisins and add one tablespoon grated orange peel.
