Percentage describes an amount "out of 100".c For example, 22 out of 100 is 22%, and 243 out of 100 is 243%. A decimal number can be also used to describe a fraction out of 100.c
You can change a percent into a decimal by moving the decimal point two places to the left.

1. For example, begin with 25%.
2. If there is no decimal shown, you can insert it at the end of the whole number to make it 25.0%.
3. To remove the percent, move the decimal point to the left twice. This makes 0.25, which is the decimal form of the percent.
If you have a larger percent, such as 314.2%, move the decimal point over two places. This will become 3.142.
After you have converted the percent to a decimal number, you can convert it back to a percent by moving the decimal point two places to the right (or by multiplying the number by 100).
