How to Clean Beets

What You'll Need

  • Beets
  • Cutting board
  • Straightedge knife
  • Colander

Instructions

  1. Chop off the greens from the root.
  2. Chop off the beet root tail.
  3. Rinse the beet root and scrub off the dirt with your hands.
  4. Hold greens at the base and rinse off thoroughly.
  5. Pat dry with a paper towel.

If you're not going to use the beet greens right away, you can wrap them in a paper towel, seal in a plastic resealable bag and store them in your refrigerator.
