This page tells how to cheat at The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3. It gives out specific cheat codes and tells how to make the sims games tell you all the cheat codes. It shows some of what can be done with the cheat codes. It has a video that shows how to open the cheat window.
Section one on this Mahalo page tells how to open the cheat window. It also tells how to make your game tell you all the cheat codes. It lists the most commonly used cheat codes - including the money cheat - and tells what they do.
Sections two and three on this Mahalo page tell how to enable the testing cheats, what options are opened with the testing cheats enabled, and what special objects can be spawned with the testing cheats enabled.
Check out the featured video for an illustration of the testing cheats being enabled. The tips to the right of this introduction outline the most important instructions.
The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3 are Computer Simulation Games by Electronic Arts.http://www.thesims3.com/ The tips on this page are written for the PC versions of these games. These tips will also help with Sims 3 for iPhone, The Sims on Xbox Live, The Sims 2 for Playstation 2 and other versions of The Sims, to an extent.
Featured Video: Sims Boolprop Cheat Tutorial
simsfan66 shows how to get the cheat window open and the many options that come up after entering boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. The cheat window opens the same way in all PC versions and expansions. To turn this cheat off again (because it can severely mess up your game), enter boolprop testingcheatsenabled false. In The Sims 3 one simply enters testingcheatsenabled true (or false), without the boolprop. Other cheat codes are discussed on this Mahalo page as well, besides the testing cheats.
Step 1: Basic Sims Cheats
To open the cheat window, hit all three of these keys at the same time:
control Shift C
If you ever cannot remember how to spell a cheat code or which way to format a cheat code, simply type help in the cheat window and press enter. All the cheat codes will scroll up the screen. Here are the most commonly used cheat codes, and what they do:http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SimWatch/message/37038
exit - This closes the cheat window.
help - This makes all the cheat codes scroll up the screen.
move_objects on - This code is very powerful, so be careful. Always turn it off when you are done with it. It lets you delete undeletable things like bills. It also lets you move stuck sims. In The Sims it is OK to delete sims. They will come back in a few seconds with all their motives full. Do not delete sims in The Sims 2 or The Sims 3. Do NOT delete the mailbox! That will really screw up your game.
move_objects off - This disables move_objects on.
prepare_lot - This frees all stuck sims and all stuck objects on the lot. This is useful when dates get stuck in dining booths, and in so many other sticky situations.
The Money Cheats for Sims 1:
rosebud - This gives the household 1,000 simoleons.
rosebud!;! - Hold down the enter key and this makes the simoleons keep rolling in until you let up on the enter key.
The Money Cheats for Sims 2 and Sims 3:
kaching - This gives the household 1,000 simoleons.
motherload - This gives the household 50,000 simoleons.
Step 2: Sims 2 and 3 Boolprop Testing Cheats
The boolprop testing cheats don't work in The Sims or any of its expansions. They do work in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. In The Sims 3 one does not include boolprop as part of the code. Open the cheat window and inside it enter:
in The Sims 2: boolprop testingcheatsenabled true
in The Sims 3: testingcheatsenabled true
Once the testing cheats are enabled, all sorts of options are opened up. Most notably options are opened up when pressing shift while clicking on a sim and on the mailbox on the lot. To see what testing cheat options are available on the expensive telescope, read the Mahalo page entitled How to Get Abducted by Aliens in The Sims 2. Here are just a few of the dozens of options available with the testing cheats enabled:
make all happy - This fills the motives of every sim on the lot.
make selectable - This lets you control a non-player character (npc). With this it is possible to make the npcs change clothes and add npcs to your household.
Debug > Make Harvestable - When done on a plant this makes the plant grow harvestable fruits or vegetables immediately.
The testing cheats are very powerful and dangerous. Turn them off when you are done using them by entering in the cheat window:
in The Sims 2: boolprop testingcheatsenabled false
in The Sims 3: testingcheatsenabled false
Step 3: Sims 2 and 3 Boolprop Spawn Object Cheats
Read Step 2 on this Mahalo page to see how to enable the testing cheats. Then, with the testing cheats enabled, hit the shift key while you click on any sim, and then choose:
Spawn
Here are just a few of the things you can spawn with the testing cheats enabled:
Wishing well (Sims 2) - Clicking on this makes two sims in the neighborhood appear, and they are your friends. To see how one normally gets this, read the Mahalo page entitled How To Get the Wishing Well in The Sims 2.
New Servo (Sims 2) - This is a mechanical sim who can pull food out of his chest, repair anything, act as a nanny, and even get a job. Don't let him get wet, though!
Tombstone of Life and Death (L&D) (gravestone)
- Here are just some of the things this item can do:
- Change the age of any sim on the lot.
- Kill any sim on the lot.
- Make the grim reaper come.
- Make sims pregnant - with alien babies in The Sims 2.
Sim Modder (Standing baby statue)
- Here are just some of the things this item can do:
- Give a sim a cell phone without going downtown. (Sims 2)
- Give a sim new clothes without going downtown. (Sims 2)
- Make two sims instantly fall in love.
- Make two sims instantly hate each other.
