Introduction
Believe it or not, there is physics behind magic spells. Scientists believe that everything in the universe is connected to everything else, and that energy can affect things in far away places. When you cast a magic spell, you are focusing your energy onto a specific target, and are making waves in the universe, so to speak. Spellcasting is all about using the powers of the mind. Symbolism and the help of special items are incorporated to make the energy more potent. -
Step 1: Know Your Intentions
When preparing to cast a spell, it is important to make sure your intentions are for the good of all parties involved. Never cast a spell to manipulate another individual, or to do harm in any way. Spells can be powerful, deeply affecting the psyche, and it is easy for a beginner to misuse them.If your intentions are less than pure, you are apt to surround yourself with negative energy that can make the spell backfire, and even cause harm to yourself and others. Use prudence when attempting any spell, and know for certain that you are trying to create a positive affect. If you have doubts, do not go on with the spell.

Step 2: Write it Out
If you are a beginner, it is best not to "wing it." Sit down at a time when you are at peace with yourself, and write down the words that you will recite for your spell. If you have a special pen and stationary set, use it.Write down exactly what you want from your spell. You may want to evoke the powers of planets or stars that relate to what you are pursuing. For example, you may address the moon or planet Venus for a love spell.
At the end of the spell, ALWAYS add "for the good of all." This will help ensure that your spell does no harm. Finish off with the words, "As my will, so mote it be."

Step 3: Gather Materials
You should have materials to help you execute the spell. Symbolic items will help you achieve the best results, such as a money clip for a money spell. In addition to symbolic items, traditional spells use often use incense, candles, essences, and chalices or goblets. Materials of the four elements (earth, wind, water and fire) are usually represented in spells. -

Step 4: Cast your Spell
Now you are ready to cast your spell. For maximum effect, choose a planetary hour that is consistent with your goal. You can find planetary hour calculators on the internet. Remember to keep an eye on all burning items until they are completely extinguished.Once you are ready, do the following:
- Set up all materials on a sturdy surface (outdoors is best)
- Light candles and incense
- Say aloud "This spell is for the good of all involved, may it only bring positive results"
- Focus all of your energy into what you are doing
- Read your spell aloud three times
- As you read, visualize your spell taking effect
- If possible, place the spell beneath a candle and keep it there until the candle burns out
-
Step 5: Emanate Energy
Spells work because the spellcaster focuses her or his energy on performing the task at hand. Therefore, the most important part of the spell is not the incense or the time of day, but rather the intensity of your focus. Summon up as much energy as possible, and concentrate on pointing all of it at the target of your spell. See it as an emanation of white light leaving your body and engulfing whatever it is that you are directing your spell at. If it is only an abstract idea, such as love, choose a symbol or abstract image to direct your energy towards. It does not have to be completely specific.
