Is there a way to control where the "google Adsense" things go on a page? If so how? what should or should not be done.

I would really like to see some details on formatting text within the Mahalo Page: How to italicize, how to footnote sources, how to hotlink, etc.

I know some of this is basic HTML formatting, but not all of us are entirely familiar with it. And there are some uncommon commands used by this site. We could really use a guide!
