Having smarts comes in handy with everything we do in life. Luckily, there are ways to beef up your brain if you feel like it could use a little attention. This page will tell you how to become smart.

• Most smart people read regularly. Start reading for a little while every day. Go out to the bookstore and pick up a handful of books that interest you. When you get through those, go out and get some more! Talk to your friends about some of their favorite books if you're looking for suggestions.

• You don't have to limit yourself to books, either. Reading magazines, newspapers and websites can keep your mind sharp and keep you updated with what's going on in the world.

• One way to get your mind in gear more often is to hang out with lots of smart people. If you are surrounded by intelligence, it will eventually rub off on you (or at least inspire you to learn).

• Being creative is not only fun, it forces us to think in new and original ways.

3. Keep a daily journal. Journals help you discover yourself while providing you with an outlet for your personal thoughts and ideas.
