- Everyone familiar with werewolf legends probably thinks that the way to become a werewolf is simple: if you get bitten by a werewolf, you will become a werewolf. Saints
- However, it was not only gods who could create werewolves. On at least two occasions Christian saints were believed to have cursed individuals and made them werewolves.

The Balkan Peninsula is home for two of the most popular tales.
