All plant sims need is sunlight, water, and love. See the toddler sim picture featured on this Mahalo page to find out what this looks like on the game screen. Their need for sunlight can also be fullfilled with the sunlamps that are available in the garden section of build mode.

Plant sims' need for water can be fullfilled by drinking water from a sink, taking a bath or shower, swimming, playing with a sprinkler, being out in the rain, or playing in a puddle. Plant sims don't have a need for the room to be clean, so go ahead and leave puddles for them to play in.

Because they only need sunlight, water and love, plant sims are ideal farmers. Being out in the sunlight to care for the plants makes plant sims happy. Their need for love can be fulfilled by talking to plants as well as by interacting with people. Talking to plants makes the plants much healthier, which makes the plants yield much better produce.

Creating a whole bunch of other sims when all you have is one plant sim is easy. Just click on a plant sim and choose the option 'Produce Plantbaby'. These spawn immediately and they start as toddlers. See the video featured on this Mahalo page for a demonstration of a sim spawning plant toddlers. Plant sims can also reproduce the normal way and have human babies.

The only limit on how many plant sims can be spawned is the character slot limit. This is 8 normally, and 10 with The Sims 2: Pets expansion. If there is another adult in the household, then he or she can move out and take some of the toddlers along. After that, more toddlers can be spawned.

Go ahead and let toddler plant sims play in the toilet. This fullfills their water need, and they don't have a hygeine need! Put a sunlamp over the toilet and fullfill two needs at once. Leave broken sinks, showers or bathtubs unfixed so that toddler sims have more puddles to play in.

1. Place as many trees outside on your lot as you can afford, but don't place any ladybug stands.
2. Wait for the trees to get sick. This takes a few sim days. Make sure to water the trees or place sprinkers that will water the trees. If you don't want to wait for the trees to get sick, then enable the testing cheats, shift click on a tree, and choose the options DEBUG > infest with bugs.
3. Have the aspiring plant sim spray the trees, as soon as the option comes up.

Eventually a cloud of gas will form around the sim. The sim comes out of the cloud of gas as a plant sim. You can click on a mirror to have the plant sim change appearance. This will allow you to have them put on makeup, glasses, and hats so that they have an individual appearance.

If your plant sims feel cut off from society and want to become human, they can. Even sims that were spawned as plant sims as described in section 2 of this Mahalo page can be cured of plantsimism and become human.

Your plant sim will drink the potion, jump up and become human after landing. If this was a human who turned into a plant sim, then they will look the same as before they changed.
