Finding a job as a mall santa can be quick and easy. The three steps below will show you how to become a Mall Santa.

Step 1: Prepare Your Headshot, Cover Letter and Resume
- As soon as possible, rent a Santa Claus costume. Telling a costume store owner that you're looking for a job as a Mall Santa and only need the costume for an hour may result in being able to borrow the costume.
- Dress as Santa Clause.
- Apply rosy red cheek makeup.
- Stand in front of a plain, nondescript background such as a painted wall.
- Set the timer on a camera to take your photo or have a friend help.
Step 2: Prepare Your Resume Packages
Here are the 3 pages that you should assemble and prepare to distribute to places that hire seasonal Christmas staff:
- Your Photo as Santa (black and white is acceptable if you want to save money)
- Cover Letter
- Resume
Note that your resume does not have to be a multi-page document. In short, all that a hiring manager will really want from your resume is people to call for references. Ensure that your references each know that you're apply for a job as a Mall Santa to prepare them for a phone call. References will be checked.
Step 3: Deliver Resume Packages
- Looking online, in the Yellow Pages or simply by walking around your local community, compose a list of stores, shops, malls, community centers, etc that could possibly require a mall santa. Don't leave anywhere out!
