If you are 100 pounds or more overweight and have a genuine desire to lose weight on the reality show, read on for information on how to become a contestant on The Biggest Loser.

Losing weight is not easy, but with the right determination and drive it's very possible. If you have a strong desire to change your life by losing 100 pounds or more, applying to be a contestant on The Biggest Loser is likely the easiest part of the process.

Debuting in 2004, The Biggest Loser follows contestants, sometimes working alone and other times in pairs or couples, as they attempt a dramatic weight loss process. Trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper put the contestants through an intense lifestyle change, which includes diet and exercise, with contestants losing hundreds of pounds in a short period of time. While many see results right away, the goal is to teach the contestants proper nutrition and exercise habits they can carry on the rest of their lives. The show does feature a competition, with the contestants losing the smallest percentage of body weight eligible for elimination each week. At the end of the season, the contestant who loses the highest percentage of body weight, and remains in the competition, wins the grand prize of $250,000.
