Before actually applying for an audition, make sure that you meet these general requirements:

• Ben-Gals' minimum age requirement in 21. There is no maximum.
• Must be physically fit and agile
• Must be able to attend all of the cheerleading practices held during the season
• Must be able to devote personal time to business, city, or charitable events representing the Bengals.
• Must be able to dance well and learn new routines quickly
• Must be able to work well with a group
• Must be upbeat and high-energized
• Must be confident and poised

On the first day of auditions at the stadium, this will be the first impression that the judges will get of you and you want to do your best to be noticed in a positive way.

• Besides having comfortable dancing shoes or tennis shoes, you should wear spandex shorts with a cropped bra type top. Baggy clothes are unacceptable.
• Hair styles for long hair should be flattering but away from the face. You want a glamorous look as opposed to a sporty look.
• Make-up should be applied as though an evening out is scheduled, not a sports game.
• Judges will be looking at all of your physical features.
• They will be looking for enthusiasm
• Take bottled water and/or a snack.
• Take hair products and make-up for touch ups throughout the day.

• Actual auditions are held at the stadium. On the first day of auditions everyone registered performs and are judged on looks, personality, and general appearance, as well as dancing techniques. The initial cut is made.

• Those making the cut were then required to attend 5 workshops over the period of two weeks. During these workshops, attention will paid to dance combinations, techniques, exercise and fitness, etc. Following the workshops, another cut is made.

• The next step , if you've made the cut, are the personal interviews where you will be scored. This score is recorded and will be used in unison with your score in the finals. The returning Ben-Gals join in the competition at this point.

• The finals consists of the a performance of a dance routine introduced in the semi-finals in front of approximately 15 judges and a bathing suit modeling session.

These scores and the scores you accumulated in your interview and throughout the other processes will all be considered The judges will take all things into consideration and decide on the members of the upcoming season's team.
