Step 1: Get in Touch With Nature
The most basic requirement for being a witch is to respect and love all things in nature. In the modern world, most people are removed from their natural roots, so this may take some cultivating. When outside, feel the presence of the sun, moon, or stars in the sky. Recognize your connection with trees, animals, and stones. It may help to go up to the mountains, a lake or river, or the woods for inspiration. Any undeveloped area will do. Feel the balance of the energy that surrounds you, and try to become one with the earth.
