Introduction
- The road to becoming a professional boxer is not an easy one. Not only will you train very hard for a long time, but you'll have to deal with a lot of very strong people trying to punch you in the face as you go along. Nevertheless, if you feel like a bout in the ring is where your career is headed, here is what you'll need to do.
-
Step 2: Train to Fight
- You're going to need to be in excellent shape if you want to box professionally. Plus you'll have to learn good fighting technique.
- Work with your coach to develop a training regimen.
- Cardiovascular exercise will help your stamina in the ring. Jumping rope also improves your hand-eye coordination.
- Weight training and core exercises like push-ups will improve your fighting strength.
- Learn the fundamentals of boxing, such as wrapping your hands, proper stance, and punching bag technique.
- Work on your fighting technique.
- This will include offense and defense, such as blocks and combination punches.
- Train for at least six months, up to a year.
- Sign up for an amateur match through your gym. Begin fighting regularly.

Step 3: Go Pro
You will need to have quite a bit of amateur boxing experience under your belt if you want to go pro. The best thing to do is continually compete in amateur tournaments and win some regional championships. This is a way to catch the attention of a professional manager that can get you the higher-profile bouts and help you become a professional. -
