Introduction
- Looking for a way to find new clients? Advertising in the Yellow Pages is a great way to attract local business. In fact, studies show 40 percent of consumers are likely to make a purchase based on a yellow pages ad. Advertising in the Yellow Pages is a simple process, so read on to learn how to buy and design a Yellow Pages advertisement.

-
Step 1: Buy Ad Space
- When buying an ad, you'll have to consider several factors, including:
- Size.
- Double page ads.
- Full page ads.
- 3/4 page ads.
- Half page ads.
- Column ads.
- Color.
- Black and white.
- Full color.
- Color ads are more expensive than black and white ads.
- Monochrome.
- An ad in a single color other than black, like red or blue.
- The ad may have a white background (instead of yellow).
- The purpose is to make your ad stand out, but is less expensive than full color.
- Placement.
- Ads are ordered by size then seniority. That means ads are placed in sections beginning with the largest ads (double page) to the smallest ads. Each ad section is then ordered by seniority, so that the newest ad is last.
- Price.
- Keep in mind, you are buying a 12-month ad.
- You may be told the price in:
- Dollars per month.
- Dollars per week.
- Dollars per day.
- Contact your local Yellow Pages for a list of their prices and options.
-

- Most Yellow Page companies will help you design your ad for an additional price.
