How I Met Your Mother is an American sitcom that airs Monday nights on CBS. The show tells the story of how the character Ted Mosby (played by Josh Radnor) meets his wife with the help of his friends played by Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segel. The story is told almost entirely in flashback with a mature Ted, in the year 2030, (voiced by Bob Saget) telling his children the story of how he met their mother.

Internet Sensation
The program is noted for using the internet to promote the show. They reference websites that only exist because the show created them. For example in one episode a character mentions the website Tedmosbyisajerk.com which is a real website, but created for the show. Other instances include Barney's Blog and the release of Robin Sparkles videos. Robin Sparkles is the alter-ego of character Robin Schebatsky. Currently the character is a serious gun toting, Republican news anchor. In her youth she was a Canadian pop princess and had such hits as Let's Go To The Mall and Sandcastles in the Sand. Troubled singer Britney Spears appeared on the show soon after her divorce from Kevin Federline. Though her erratic behavior plagued her in the tabloids, her performance as a secretary in Ted Mosby's girlfriend's office garnered favorable reviews.-
