House of M is an 8-issue comic book miniseries that was released in 2005. It was a major event that affected the entire continuity of the Marvel Comics universe, and crossed over many popular characters during the miniseries, including the X-Men, Avengers, and other individual superheroes. The story focuses on the mentally-unstable Scarlet Witch, who creates a fantasy world in which there are no more mutants. The resulting illusion affects all of Earth 616 and creates new roles for nearly every major Marvel character.
