  • History

The tradition of the hot pot is believed to be traced back to ancient Mongolia. It is believed that the method was practiced by nomadic tribes who would boil food around a fire. The standard of hot pot cooking is believed to be the Chinese Hot Pot. The style, tools and ingredients vary from culture to culture, but the actual practice is quite simple. Simply place the food item in a boiling pot of water using chopsticks till it is cooked to the desired effect. Due to the possibility of salmonella poisoning it is recommended that the cooking chopsticks are not the same ones used for the consumption of the food.
