Hoodie History
Hoodies may seem like a recent fashion trend but they actually go back to the Middle Ages when monks would wear a type of cowl, or hood, connected to their robes. By the 1930s, Champion, created a hoodie that would be used to warm laborers working in cold warehouses. It wasn't until the 1970s that the hoodie became a fashion statement with top designers such as Norma Kamali creating the first high-end hoodies. Twenty years later hoodies became a part of many prominent designer collections, as well as a staple in hip-hop wear.
