Holes is a 2003 film from Walt Disney Pictures about an unpopular teen (Shia LaBeouf) who, after being falsely accused of stealing a pair of sneakers, is forced to spend the summer at Camp Greenlake where he is forced to dig holes in a dried up desert. While the digging of holes is ostensibly supposed to build character in the boys, the real reason is that the wardens (Sigourney Weaver and Jon Voight) are looking for a lost treasure that was buried in the desert. As a starring vehicle for LaBeouf, the film was a critical and commercial success.
