The Hockey Stick is an essential piece of equipment to play the sports of Ice Hockey, Roller Hockey and Field Hockey. The stick is carried by the athlete and used to strike and transport the Puck. Players also use the stick as a means of defense to prevent other players from moving the puck to a desired area such as the goal or towards a teammate.

Field Hockey Stick
The Hockey stick has different varieties which is designed for particular positions and needs. The Shorti is for posstions requiring control. The Midi is used for strikers and shooters, it is the preferred stick of scorers. The Maxi is used for stopping the projection of a ball and is a less effective shooting stick than the Midi. The J Hook is mostly used by defenders it is thicker, and more durable than the shooting sticks. -
Ice Hockey Stick
The Ice Hockey stick is used in the game of Ice Hockey. There are two general types of sticks, the Regular stick which is used by position players and the Goalie Stick, used by the Goalie, which is generally wider at the base to provide better defense. Although early sticks were made with wood, the modern hockey stick is a more sophisticated piece of equipment made of composite materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass. -
