On November 9, 2009, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Brian Leetch, Luc Robitaille and Lou Lamoriello were inducted as the 2009 Hall of Fame class.

Induction Policies
In order to be eligible for induction into the hall, players must be retired for a minimum of four years from the National Hockey League. This waiting period has been waived for ten players including Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Ted Lindsay, Leonard "Red" Kelly, Terry Sawchuk, Jean Beliveau, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky.Official Site: Induction Facts and Figures Players, builders and referees are nominated by the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, then are voted on for inclusion.
