Since her days as a suburban Chicago youth, canvasing for Republican Presidential Candidate Barry Goldwater, Hillary Rodham Clinton has been a political activist. Throughout her political career, Clinton has been First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the United States, Member of the U.S. Senate, and 2008 presidential candidate.

On January 20, 2007, Clinton announced her intention to run for the Democratic Nomination for the 2008 presidential election. The Clinton won several key states throughout the course of her campaign, including Texas and Ohio; but after Barack Obama gained enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton bowed out of the race and gave her support to Obama.
