Highlander Game

  • Highlander is a role-playing action video game for the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3. The game was developed by Widescreen Games, who are responsible for games such as Airborne Troops and Dead to Rights 2. Highlander is based on a short story by Gregory Widen, which also inspired a film and television series in 1986 and 1992 respectively.
  • Story

Owen MacLeod died during a battle, but magically came back from the dead to join the ranks of the Immortals. Two thousand years later, he must defeat the most powerful Immortal of all. First, though, he has to find three pieces of a stone. The Immortal who puts these pieces together will be granted unlimited power over all other Immortals. With the help of the stone, MacLeod will fight the Immortal until one is defeated and put to death by beheading.
  • Gameplay

Highlander consists of eighteen missions within four locations, including New York and Japan. The player encounters seventy-seven unusual characters throughout the game. MacLeod battles other Immortals using different swords, including the Katana and the Claymore. He must kill other immortals by beheading them and the more heads he takes off, the more power he will unlock. MacLeod has abilities such as Chi Balance and Resurrection, which are part of his Quickening skills. Also, during his journey, he can swan dive, free fall, use ziplines or jump off high buildings to evade enemies.
