• Synopsis

  High School Musical is the story of two groups of high school students, including Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), who is the captain of the basketball team and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), who is a shy student that excels in math and science. Gabriella and Troy had met at a party where they had sang together, shortly after that, Gabriella's mother is transferred and moves her to East High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Troy attends school. The two each try out for lead roles in the high school musical, which causes the student body to take sides and divide. Troy and Gabriella work against the odds and continue to practice together and will not allow the school to split them up. In the end, they are granted the two lead roles in the musical they have auditioned for.
