The classic 1952 Western High Noon follows the saga of a soon-to-be-retired small-town Kansas marshal whose town abandons him when threatened by the returning Miller gang. Grace Kelly plays his new Quaker wife who tries to persuade him to leave the town to fend for itself. Features one of the genre's great showdowns.
A Winning Western
Star Gary Cooper always had a knack for playing the good guy cowboy, and he was rewarded for his particularly fine turn as the Marshal Will Kane with his second Academy Award. The film also won Golden Globes for Best Picture (Drama), Best Director and Best Supporting Actress (Katy Jurado).
