The high line is a park in New York City that was converted from a 1.45 mile elevated rail line that was abandoned in 1980. It stretches from Gansevoort Street in the West Village to the rail yards at 30th Street in Chelsea/Midtown West.
On June 9, 2009, the first section of the high line - from Gansevoort Street to 20th Street - opened to the public. The rest of the park is expected to open in 2010.
