Genital Herpes Treatment
It is best to take antiviral medicines as soon as the symptoms appear. Some people take antivirals daily as a form of suppressive therapy, especially in cases where there are frequent outbreaks or there is a compromised immune system, but it is recommended that they take a brief break from this therapeutic routine at least once a year. During pregnancy, both Acyclovir and Valacyclovir are used. Acyclovir is most commonly used during pregnancy. For those people with compromised immune systems, resistance to the common oral medications may develop.
