  • The NBC television series Heroes tells the story of a wide-ranging group of people, most of whom have supernatural abilities. The majority of these heroes are trying to save the world, but a few are attempting to control or destroy it.
  • Early Reception

Heroes was one of the most popular shows of the 2006 - 2007 TV season. It received the highest ratings of any NBC drama in the past five years, and was also critically acclaimed. While some hailed it as the most creative TV show in years, others complained that its main plot point (normal people develop superpowers) was strikingly similar to USA's The 4400, the comic book and movie series X Men, and the shared world anthology books Wild Cards.
  • Heroes Evolutions

Heroes does not just exist on television; the creators have created an immersive experience by building sites on the web that relate to people, locations and businesses in the series. Clues to future plot developments are embedded within the websites.
  • It's That Guy!

In a nod to the geek portion of their audience, Heroes producers have cast a number of actors known for their roles on other science fiction and fantasy television shows, especially actors from the Star Trek franchise. These actors include:

    1. George Takei (Star Trek)
    2. Dominic Monaghan ( Enterprise)
    3. Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek)
    4. Leonard Roberts (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
    5. Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who)

In addition, the series has cast several alumni's of J.J. Abrams' previous series, including Greg Grunberg and David Anders.
