Hercules and Love Affair are a New York-based disco group led by producer/DJ Andy Butler. Their self-titled debut album, released on DFA Records in 2008, mixes late 70's disco and early house music.

Background
Andy Butler moved from Denver, Colorado to Brooklyn, New York to attend Sarah Lawrence College. Once in New York, Butler began working on what would become Hercules and Love Affair's debut album. Hercules and Love Affair was produced by Butler and Tim Goldsworthy of DFA. Butler also collaborated with Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons as well as singer Nomi Ruiz and DJ/singer Kim Ann Foxman.TimeOut London: Hercules And Love Affair: interview (March 3, 2008)
