Basic Info
Along with the Elimination Chamber, the Hell in a Cell is considered one of the most brutal WWE matches. Since the first Cell match in 1997, fans have eagerly anticipated its use at WWE pay-per-views.Matches held in the Cell are one-fall, with no count-outs or disqualifications. Though the Cell doors are typically chained and locked shut, there have been few instances where the wrestlers have fought on top of the cell.
"Custom Built for Injury"
Triple H and The Undertaker have participated in every Hell in a Cell match in one way or another, but it is Mick Foley who is perhaps the most memorable wrestler to ever compete inside it.At the 1998 King of the Ring, Foley faced the Undertaker in a bloody match. At the start, the Undertaker threw Foley from the top of the Cell, sending Foley crashing onto the Spanish announce table.
Foley somehow continued the match, again climbing to the top of the cell, only to be chokeslammed through the cell roof, slamming into the ring below. To conclude the match, the Undertaker chokeslammed Foley again in the ring--this time, on thumbtacks. The match is still regarded as one of the most violent matches in WWE history.
