Helium Band

Helium was an indie rock band, fronted by vocalist Mary Timony. The band's unique sound blended 1960s folk music with edgy progressive sounds of the 1970s and 1980s. After releasing two EPs, the band came out with their first full-length The Dirt of Luck and toured in the Lollapalooza music festival. The band released a second album in 1997 but disbanded in 1998 after a short tour. Mary Timony has gone on to a moderately successful solo career.
