Heinz has been manufacturing ketchup for more than 130 years, and uses a blend of tomatoes and various herbs and spices. In addition to the original recipe, Heinz also offers ketchup varieties for those with specific dietary needs, as well as for the health and environmentally conscious consumer. These include organic ketchup, reduced sugar ketchup and salt free ketchup. In addition, Heinz ketchup comes in an assortment of bottles, such as the classic 14 ounce glass bottle and a newly designed plastic "Fridge Fit" bottle. http://www.heinz.com/our-food/products/ketchup.aspx

Heinz Company History
Heinz got its start back in 1869, when Henry J. Heinz and L.C. Noble joined forces to sell horseradish under the label Heinz, Noble & Company. The business ultimately failed, but in 1876 Mr. Heinz created a new partnership, F & J Heinz, and began selling ketchup in addition to other condiments. In 1888, Mr. Heinz took total control over the business and changed the name to H.J. Heinz Company. Henry J. Heinz passed away in 1919, but the company was taken over by his son Howard Heinz and continued to prosper. Today, Heinz manufactures thousands of products and has acquired numerous brand names, including Star-Kist, Weight Watchers and Ore-Ida Foods, Inc.http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/HJ-Heinz-Company-Company-History.html
