  • Heinz Field is the home stadium of the National Football League's Pittsburgh Steelers and College Football team the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. The stadium is located in the North Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh, across the Allegheny River from downtown. The stadium holds approximately 74,000 people. Among the stadium's unique features are two Heinz Ketchup bottles at the end-zone that tilt and seem to pour ketchup when the Steelers are in the "Red-Zone." Heinze acquired the naming rights to the stadium for $57 million, in keeping with Heinz's 57 varieties.
  • History

The stadium was built with a mixture of public and private funds to replace the city's old football and baseball stadium, Three Rivers Stadium. The old Three Rivers site now serves as a parking lot for both Heinz Field and PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
