According to E! Online on November 28, 2008, Montag's and Pratt's wedding is not yet legally recognized. A spokesperson for the One & Only Palmilla resort in Mexico, where the couple exchanged vows, revealed that weddings that take place in the country must be preceded by blood tests, copies of birth certificates and paperwork (that must be filled out two business days before the wedding ceremony takes place). However, Montag and Pratt were spotted departing the LAX airport on November 19, 2008, just a day before their wedding took place making it impossible to follow the protocol for a legal Mexican wedding. It is however possible for couples to exchange vows in Mexico and then carry out a ceremonial service when they return to the states, but according to the L.A.County Registrars Office, Montag and Pratt have not applied for a marriage liscense.
