  • Modeling Career

    As a young woman, Klum won a fashion contest held by the German magazine Petra. She signed with Metropolitan and toured Europe throughout the 1990s. In 1998, she appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
  • Project Runway and Related Ventures

    Klum is the host and one of the judges on Lifetime's Project Runway. Since the show became a success, Klum released Body of Knowledge: 8 Rules of Model Behavior in 2004. She volunteers for the American Red Cross and is active in the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
  • Klum as Designer

    Klum has been interested in clothing design since her youth and hesitated to sign her first modeling contract out of a desire to go to fashion school. She designed several swimsuits featured in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Several pieces of her jewelry line were sold on QVC during 2006 and 2007. Her official website also sells two fragrances of Klum's own design.
