  • Hayao Miyazaki was born on 5 jan 1941 in Tokyo, Japan. He is among the world's most prominent animation film directors. He is also the owner of Studio Ghibli, and is known as the Walt Disney of Japan .

    He started his career with Teoi animation, and later moved on to A pro and then Nippon Animation before finally getting his own studio.

    Hayao Miyazaki works were not known to the west until Miramax released his animation movie "'Princess Mononoke. "' However, his animated movies were huge sucesses in Japan and Central Asia. His prominent works have been "' Princess Mononoke "' ,"' Spirited Away"' and Proco Rosso". He has also directed TV animated serials and magna illustrations . His movies have been awarded Japanese Academy awards and a Golden Globe. He is currently working on Magna illustrations for a magazine by the called The Wind Rises. His works are mainly related to the human relationship with nature and technology.

    Miyazaki was named one of the 100most influential person by Time magazine in 2005.

    Hayao Miyazaki Joined Teoi Animation and sharpened his skills as chief animator , content artist and scene designer. He assisted Isao Takahata in his movie Hols - Prince of the Sun.

    Miyazaki left Teoi In 1971 and joined A Pro . During this period he also directed television shows such as Sherlock hound and Future Boy Conan. 1985 Miyazaki co founded his own studio called Ghibli. In 2001, he created an animation film called Sprited Away, which bagged a Golden Bear Award at Venice Film festival as well as an Academy Award in 2002. He won a Japanese Academy Award for his film Princess Mononoke.

    Miyazaki also works as a Manga illustrator, and is known for his work in Puss In boots.
