  • Hawthorne Heights is a post-hardcore band from Dayton, Ohio. They released their 2004 debut, The Silence in Black and White, on Victory Records. It included the hit song "Ohio is for Lovers" and helped them build a large fan base.

Hawthorne Heights sued Victory Records in 2006. The lawsuit stemmed from an incident in which an email was sent by Victory (but seemingly from the band) to fans, encouraging them to sabotage the sales of singer Ne-Yo, whose album was to be released on the same day as If Only You Were Lonely.

  • Calvert's Death

Guitarist and vocalist Casey Calvert died accidentally on November 24, 2007 due to an interaction between prescription drugs he was taking. The band continues on without Calvert, but vowed not to replace him.
