On Wednesday March 19, 2008, Hawaiian volcano Kilauea exploded which sent rocks flying, causing parts of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to close because of the high levels of Sulfur Dioxide and volcano debris. There was no lava that erupted and it is believed that the explosion was caused by a possible gas build up. Scientists believe that there could be a "remote possibility" of an eruption, but since there are no indications, it is unlikely.
There have been no injuries reported from this incident.
