Hassan Nasrallah

Hassan Nasrallah is the secretary-general of Hezbollah. He has been the leader of the terrorist group since 1992.

Early Life

He is the oldest of nine children. Nasrallah's father sold vegetables in the Hammoud neighborhood of East Beirut. At the age of 15, he moved to Najaf to study Islam under the supervision of Abbas al-Musawi.

Hezbollah

After the 1982 Israeli invasion, Nasrallah and Musawi joined Hezbollah as guerilla commanders. Musawi became secretary-general of Hezbollah in 1991. Nasrallah became Hezbollah's leader after Israel assassinated Musawi.
