Harvest Moon Island of Happiness is a farm simulation game. In the game you are stranded on a desert island as either Mark or Chelsea and a variety of other different characters. The game will be playable on the Nintendo DS and is the 19th game in the Harvest Moon series of games. The game has already been released in Japan and is set to be released in the United States in June. Marvelous Interactive has developed many of the Harvest Moon series of games and is set to develop some of the future games that are currently planned for release.

In this game the family must successfully start a farm. As the farm develops a city begins to develop, which in turn will attract more people to come to this farm to live. As more citizens move in, more services are offered, such as ranching and agriculture services. A unique feature of this game is the ability to use the Nintendo DS's WiFi feature as a farm ranking service. There are also several seasonal festivals that you can participate in. As in previous games, the character you control has a chance to marry another character within the game. In total there are 6 possible bachelor's and bachelorettes. However, Ariella and the Harvest Goddess are not marriage candidates.
