Hart Memorial Trophy

The Hart Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the player most valuable to his teamhttp://www.nhl.com/trophies/index.html NHL. Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals is the current winner.
Origin

Named in honour of Canadian Dr. David Hart, the Hart Trophy was retired to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1960, and a new one was introduced and named the Hart Memorial Trophy. Dr. David Hart was the father of former NHL coach and General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
