Based on the ongoing series of the boy wizard by JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth movie in the eight movie series produced by Warner Brothers Studios. David Yates once again directs with Steve Kloves as screenwriter. The film hit theaters in the US and UK on July 15, 2009.

The Ministry of Magic has come to terms with the return of Voldemort, and has chosen a new Minister. Having reassembled The Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore continues his work of fighting Voldemort and his Death Eaters. Suspecting that Voldemort has created several horcrux to insure his immortality, Dumbledore goes on a search for the horcrux training and teaching Harry in hopes that it will provide Harry with the information he needs to defeat The Dark Lord.

In the mean time Voldemort has plans for young Malfoy to pay for his fathers failure in the Department of Ministries and ending up in Azkaban. Fearing for her son Narcissa Malfoy asks Professor Snape to help him and makes him swear to it with an Unbreakable Vow with Bellatrix LeStrange as the witness and spell caster.

Once again Hogwarts sees the entrance of a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with Professor Snape taking the position, while Horace Slughorn takes over Potions. As usual Dumbledore has ideas behind his choices for the teaching positions. By placing Horace Slughorn where he can keep an eye on him, he can also get some much needed information from him concerning Voldemort and his knowledge of horcrux.

Suspecting from the very beginning that Draco Malfoy is up to no good, Harry makes a point in trying to know what he is up to and where he is disappearing to. Discovering he is going to the Room of Requirement, he then tries to enter it while Malfoy is in but to no avail as he can not figure out what Malfoy requires. Draco on the other hand is doing his best to accomplish the task the Dark Lord has set him to; however fails when the cursed necklace falls into the wrong hands and the poisoned ale is drank by the wrong person. In the end Malfoy half way accomplishes the task but in the end it is Snape that does the dirty deed on top of the Astronomy Tower casting Avada Kedavra and killing the beloved Dumbledore.
