Games are a great way for children and adults to celebrate the annual Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, or Chanukkah. One of the most popular, and traditional Hanukkah games is the game of dreidel. Other games, including puzzles, mazes and holiday-themed word searches are also popular Hanukkah activities that are fun for all ages.
Playing Dreidel
Learning how to play dreidel is simple—you will need at least two people, a dreidel and tokens and Hanukkah gelt—in the form of real money, chocolate coins or some other treat in the shape of coins. Players spin the dreidel, which has four sides, each with a marking. A player must do whatever is on the marking when the dreidel stops spinning. According to the dreidel rules, players either do nothing, donate a piece of their Hanukkah gelt to the pot, or take either half or the entire pot.
