Hannah Teter is a USA female snowboarder who competes in the Olympic Women's Half-pipe event. The 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver will mark the second time that Hannah has appeared in the Olympics. She was born January 27, 1987 in Belmont, Vermont where she spent her childhood. Hannah now resides in South Lake Tahoe, California. In her last appearance at the Olympics, at the age of nineteen, she took home the gold medal in the half-pipe at Torino in 2006. Her victory in Italy prompted the USOC to name her Sportswoman of the Year. ESPN also awarded her an ESPY for Best Action Sports Female of 2006. Hannah has also shined at the X-Games having won gold in the half-pipe in 2005 and a bronze in 2003. In 2005 she also took home gold at the World Championships. Her resume also features six World Cup titles in the Half-pipe event. Hannah is not the only Teter who has been a prominent snowboarder.
Her older brothers Abe Teter and Elijah Teter have both competed for Team USA in the past. Besides her achievements on the half-pipe Hannah has made great humanitarian strides. She founded an organization named, Hannah’s Gold, which is a charity that raises money from the sale of Vermont maple syrup and donates it to the impoverished village of Kirindon, Kenya. 2010 Vancouver Olympics
Hannah Teter will see have her second glimpse at the Winter Games this February in Vancouver. In her first Olympic appearance she won gold in the half-pipe at the 2006 Games in Torino, Italy.
