Hannah Storm is a television news show anchor. She is currently serving as an anchor during the live morning broadcasts of ESPN's popular SportsCenter broadcasts.
On February 23, 2010, fellow ESPN personality Tony Kornheiser was suspended by the network after comments he made during his radio show about an outfit that Storm was wearing during an episode of SportsCenter. Kornheiser's remarks centered on the age-appropriateness of her wearing something tight and revealing at her age. Career Highlights
Storm began working in the industry while at the University of Notre Dame, working for the NBC affiliate in South Bend, Indiana. She returned home after graduation to the Houston area and worked for several radio stations as a disc jockey. She then began doing some pre-game and halftime hosting for both the Houston Astros and Houston Rockets.
Storm was then hired by CNN to serve as a host on CNN Sports Tonight. In addition to hosting the SportsCenter type show on CNN, she met her future husband Dan Hicks while working there. In 1992, she left to join NBC to work primarily on the network's coverage of the Olympics, NBA and WNBA basketball coverage, ands other sports including the network's coverage of her alma mater.
In 2002 she moved to CBS News and became one of the co-hosts of the revamped morning show called The Early Show. She served in that role for five years.
In May of 2008, ESPN began broadcasting their popular sports news show SportsCenter live every morning. Previous to this date, the network would re-air the previous night's version of the show. Instead, the network launched a new block featuring six hours of live programming. Storm was hired and paired with Josh Elliott to host the 9AM-noon EST airing, and was also paired with Bob Ley for Sunday morning editions of the show during the NFL season.
