Woody Allen won an Oscar for his screenplay for this 1986 dramedy, which he also directed. The film stars Barbara Hershey, Mia Farrow and Dianne Wiest as tight-knit sisters entwined in, and causing, each of the other's romantic dramas.
Reviews
"One of Woody Allen's great films. Indeed, he makes nary a misstep from beginning to end in charting the amorous affiliations of three sisters and their men over a two-year period." -- Varietyhttp://www.variety.com/review/VE1117791478.html?categoryid=31&cs=1
"Allen's writing and directing style is so strong and assured in this film that the actual filmmaking itself becomes a narrative voice, just as we sense Henry James behind all of his novels, or William Faulkner or Iris Murdoch behind theirs." -- Roger Eberthttp://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/19860207/REVIEWS/602070303/1023
