Career
Johnson earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He was chiefly responsible for criminal and civil litigation at Johnson and Johnson Law Group Limited Liability Company, a legal firm he operated in partnership with his wife for three decades. For one of those decades, he sat as Judge for the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County. Johnson is or has served as a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Armed Services Committee, the Budget Committee and the Judiciary Committee as well as serving as the Southeast Regional House Leadership Whip. He also Chairs the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts and Competition Policy which regulates companies functioning overseas.
