  • Different Factions - Different Weapons

There are two playable factions in Halo Wars: the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and the Covenant. There is also a Flood faction in the game, but that faction is not playable.

Just like in previous Halo games, each of the factions has their own strengths and weaknesses and their own set of weapons specialized to their fighting style and soldire type. Members of the UNSC known as SPARTANs begin the game with dual-wielded M7 Caseless Submachine Guns. These guns were also seen in Halo 2 and Halo 3 and are the standard weapon of choice for the UNSC. Hellbringers start the game with flamethrowers, while the UNSC Marines start with assault rifles.

Members of the Covenant faction known as Unggoy, start with plasma rifles, but also have the ability to throw grenades, while Mgalekgolo carry assault cannons. The overall artillery for the Covenant is dominated by plasma and energy weapons.

In both factions, better weapons can be equipped by upgrading the infantry units.Halopedia: Halo Wars Gameplay Units
