Mission 7: Scarab
- Watch the cutscene. Now you're inside the energy shield from before.
- Black Box Location: The black box is on the far East side of the map. It's not very hidden, but be careful not to get killed by the scarab while collecting it.
- There is a huge super scarab to the North-West. It's your mission to defeat it.
- First build 4 supply pads. You start off with reactors, so go ahead and upgrade each supply pad as soon as it finishes.
- Have your infantry units collect the nearby supply crates.
- Immediately start building scorpions. You begin the mission with a lot of supplies, so there is no need to wait.

- Once all your supply pads are complete, build an armory.
- The scarab slowly destroys the ruins that are blocking your base. You don't have forever, so be quick about training an army.
- At your armory, research the Reinforcements upgrade. This adds 10 extra population points.
- Research canister shell at your vehicle depot.
- Once reinforcements is finished researching, click on your armory again and research Reserves. This reduces the time it takes to train your units.
- Keep training scorpions until you have 7 of them.
- Bring your army North-East out of your base. Immediately you'll find a power node. Destroy it. This makes the scarab's searchlight slower.
- Optional Objective: Destroy all Enemy Power Nodes

- TIP: The Scarab can kill your units instantly if it sees them with the searchlight. Make sure to avoid it at all costs.
- Keep traveling North-East. There is a small covenant group guarding the next node. Kill them and then destroy the node.
- NOTE: There is a special achievement for finishing this mission without destroying any of the power nodes. This isn't recommended on your initial playthrough, since it makes the mission much harder. Instead, replay the mission later on the easy difficulty to get it.
- Optional Objective: Kill 10 Locusts
- Killing 10 locusts is required to get the skull in this stage. So it's a good idea to kill any you see.
- Next travel slightly North-West to find the third power node and 2 more locusts. Kill the covenant here and destroy the node.
- The enemies here don't give much fight, but you always need to be careful of the scarab.
- Quickly bring all units back to your base. The covenant have launched a counter-attack while you were away. This attack includes several locusts, so concentrate on killing them first.
- Keep building scorpions. Although you have 7, you can never have too many. Just keep building a constant stream of them until you max out your population limit.
- Your towers should keep the covenant busy while your bringing your units back. Once your army returns, they'll easily decimate the attacking covenant.
- Rebuild any towers or structures that got destroyed.

- Take your army North-West to find the next power node. There are a couple of units guarding it, but your scorpions should easily tear through them.
- Behind the node is another locust. Kill it. You should have 7 locusts killed now.
- Wait for the scarab's search light to go to the Eastern side of the map. Then go North-West.
- You'll find the last few locusts here and a power node. Take them out with the cannon attack on your scorpions.
- SECRET: Once you've taken out the last locust, the Rebel Sympathizer Skull appears at the North-Western power node. That just happens to be the node you're already at. So have Forge pick it up.
- Return to the base. From there, travel directly North towards the scarab to find the last two power nodes.
- All that's left is to destroy the scarab itself. Make sure you have at least 7 scorpions. More is preferable. Keep training them, but don't wait. You need to be fast.
- TIP: This next part can be difficult. You can pause the game and save to create a checkpoint. This checkpoint can be loaded up at any time. Just keep in mind that you can only have 1 saved game at a time.

- Wait for the scarab's search beam to pass by your base. Now quickly run your army up to the scarab's head.
- Start firing on the scarab, he has a ton of health.
- TIP: Split your army in two. Put one half on the right side of the scarab and the other on the left. It can't attack both sections of your army at once!
- Remember to keep building tanks. You may want to leave a few scorpions at your base to protect it from locusts while your main army fights the scarab.
- TIP: You can take a single tank and have him dodge across the scarab's search light before he fires the beam. This is a great way to keep your army out of danger. Just don't send your entire army across the beam at once. The army moves slower this way and you'll risk losing a scorpion or two.
- Just keep pummeling on the scarab. Remember to use your mac blasts as well.
- The mission ends once you destroy the scarab.
- Achievement: Key to Pirth
Mission 8: Ander's Signal
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 1 HD (Time: 5:04)
- Watch the cutscene. You're now on an unknown planet.
- Black Box Location: At the start of the mission just after you break through the first squad of brutes. The black box is on a little ridge just East.
- This mission is extremely short and easy.
- You start out with Sergeant Forge and a single Elephant.
- New Unit: Elephant
- The Elephant is more than just a vehicle, it's a mini-base. You can train infantry directly from the elephant, making it a portable barracks!
- Use the elephants Y ability to lock it down into place. Now it can train marines.
- Train 7 marines and 6 flamethrowers.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 2 HD (Time: 5:21)
- You'll get a steady stream of resources, so just keep training marines whenever your supplies are over 100.
- Attack the covenant to the North. You'll do some damage, but it seems that there are just too many. Don't worry, you can't really win this battle by yourself.
- After you've been fighting a little while, some spartans join the battle from the North. Cover them as they take out the remaining covenant here. Once they defeat the covenant, the group of spartans joins your army.
- Unlock your elephant and head North to the beacon. As you reach it, Echo team gets flanked to the West.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 3 HD (Time: 5:04)
- Start moving West to where Echo team disappeared.
- As you get a close a cutscene plays. The Flood come pouring out. It seems they've infected all of Echo team.
- Start off the battle by destroying the nearby tower. There are lots of enemies here, but your spartans can handle them.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 4 HD (Time: 5:02)
- Lock down your elephant so that it can start training marines. Your spartans need all the help they can get.
- Optional Objective: Kill 750 Infection Forms
- To get this levels skull, you must kill a lot of infected. Don't worry too much. There are so many small infected units that you'll reach this amount soon enough.
- Kill the flood units first. Next go for the nearby Flood Dens, they continually train more infected. Finally, go for the tentacles sticking out near the elephant.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 5 HD (Time: 5:03)
- Once the elephant is clear, headquarters gives you permission to build a base. The base site is directly East at the beacon you came from.
- Take your army South-East to where the other elephant was.
- Your base will build automatically. It also comes with 4 towers, so don't worry about defending it for now. Instead build 3 supply pads for extra income. Make sure to upgrade each supply pad as soon as it finishes building.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 6 HD (Time: 5:15)
- Attack the flood units around the other elephant. Use the exact same strategy as before.
- TIP: Lock down both of your current elephants and start pumping out marines. They provide crucial backup for your spartans.
- Keep training marines as you attack the flood units guarding the elephant. They really don't put up a lot of resistance. Just attack the towers first, then units. The spartans can tear through the flood easily.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 7 HD (Time: 5:02)
- SECRET: The mission is almost over. If you want the skull, you'll need to purposely keep from finishing the mission. Just keep killing incoming waves of flood units until you have 750 kills. Then the Rebel Supporter Skull appears to the North along a little ridge directly to the East of where you found Echo team's elephant.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Anders' Signal Part 8 HD (Time: 4:04)
- SECRET: While your getting all of those kills, you can get another secret achievement. Train 100 marine squads from an elephant to get Achievement: Ramblin' Man. Keep in mind that this takes a while and you'll need to purposely get a lot of marines killed because the population limit is only 30.
- Once you have the third elephant, return all of your army to your base. You win the mission once all 3 elephants arrive.
